KB No. 1002: USING A FILEZILLA-TYPE FTP CLIENT WITH THE HTTP PROXY
How to route FTP traffic through the HTTP proxy (FTP over HTTP).
Objective
Route FTP traffic through the HTTP proxy (FTP over HTTP).
Steps
STEP 1
- With the Proxy Cache QoS license, go to theProxy Cache QoS > Configuration > HTTP tab, sectionRequest Types Allowed by Destination Port. If you do not have the Proxy Cache QoS license, go to theProxy Cache QoS > Configuration > HTTP page, sectionRequest Types Allowed by Destination Port.
- Ports 20 and 21 are the default FTP ports; 1025-65535 will also be required. Check FTP over HTTP for the ports listed below.

STEP 2
Configuring a FileZilla FTP client:
- In Filezilla, click on Edit > Settings > Generic Proxy > HTTP/1.1 using the CONNECT method.

- Enter the proxy IP address and HTTP listening port, as well as the login and password if authentication is set up.
