Proxy cache QoS

Overview

Olfeo has a set of complementary proxies for accurately controlling access, connections, and content for HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, RTSP, TCP and SOCKS streams.

A powerful rules engine offers simple management of groups, users, and IP address ranges, with the ability to associate time ranges.

The system controls Olfeo filtering categories, a single URL, a customized list of URLs or Web 2.0 sites, or according to file size and type.

File analysis goes beyond merely checking the file extension: it also scans file contents to ensure the file's real MIME type. File downloading may be authorized, blocked, limited to a certain volume, or blocked if the file size is not provided by the file server.
The antivirus application can also detect infected files.

The Olfeo solution's caching functions conserve bandwidth, and the QoS (Quality of Service) functions help with load balancing.

Unique Benefits
Key Features
Resources
  • Control of proxified HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, RTSP, TCP and SOCKS streams

  • Selective authentication according to browsers and applications, in order to authorize certain streams such as Windows updates without prior authentication

  • Detection of files by real MIME type and limitation of downloads according to file size

  • Antivirus checks on file downloads

  • Prohibition of file downloads when the download server does not provide file size

  • Administration of caching and QoS rules through numerous criteria including Olfeo filtering categories, your customized URL lists, your Web 2.0 lists, etc.

  • Log retention over a customizable period
  • Differentiated control of access rules and content using various protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, RTSP, SOCKS, and TCP

  • Management of multiple authentication methods differentiated for each zone: transparent (Active Directory, LDAP, Lotus, etc.), SSO, captive portal, IP range, MAC address, etc.

  • Advanced configuration of cache rules: very accurate breakdown between disk and memory caches, type of content and cached
  • Bandwidth reservation and traffic prioritization using numerous criteria: by category, by group, by user, by time range, etc.
